Club Zula is located on Main and Capitol. I went to Zula Friday, October 8, 2010. Michael 5000 watts was the DJ for the night and ladies were free before 11pm. I was excited to go because Michael 5000 watts is a great DJ and the most famous Houston hip hop DJ.
We got to Zula at about 10:45 pm and did not get in until 11:20 pm! Not because of the long line but because they held the line to make it long so people passing by would think Zula was the place to be. We didn't have to pay which was great however, we missed the drink specials and had to pay at least $5 a drink.
The music was on point, but everyone was just sitting around. There was not a lot of people there so my friends and I had to make our own fun.
I went to Zula again on Thursday, October 28, 2010. It was then I discovered that it is definitely a Thursday night club. DJ young streetz was the DJ for the night and there were a lot more people in attendance and on the dance floor.
On Thursday nights it’s free all night for everyone but as usual the line was long because they hold the line to draw people to the club while they charged a $10 entry fee to skip the line. So you already know my friends and paid $10 to skip that line.
If you’re looking for a hip-hop club on a Thursday night Zula is a good place to go. Make sure you bring $10 to skip the long line that doesn’t move.
